With the combination of milbemycin oxime and praziquantel, Milbemax Tablets for Cats treat and control various stages of worms. These beef-flavored tablets are easy to administer and may be ideal for cats that are not comfortable with messy topical treatments. This oral treatment may be used in breeding, pregnant and lactating cats.

When administered as directed, Milbemax oral worming treatment provides wide parasite coverage. It:

• Treats and controls adult and immature stages of hookworms and roundworms
• Treats and controls tapeworm infection
• Prevents heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis)

How Does Milbemax for Cats Work?

Milbemax for Cats contains a combination of two active ingredients: Milbemycin oxime and praziquantel. Milbemycin oxime causes paralysis in gastrointestinal nematodes (e.g., hookworms, roundworms), leading to their subsequent expulsion. Praziquantel, on the other hand, causes muscle contraction in cestodes (e.g., tapeworms), leading to their expulsion or death.

Instructions To Use Milbemax

Directions for use:

• Milbemax for Cats is available in different packs for convenient, weight-appropriate dosing. Weigh your cat and get the pack that is suitable for them.
• Give the tablet to your cat orally, by mouth.
• Observe your cat for several minutes following dosing, to ensure that the entire dose is consumed.
• If the full dose is not consumed, re-dose as soon as possible, with a full dose.
• Milbemax Tablets for Small Cats should be administered orally to kittens at 6, 8 and 12 weeks of age, then every 3 months.
• Nursing cats should be treated at the same time as their kittens.
• Adult cats should be treated every 3 months.
• For heartworm prevention: Milbemax must be administered orally every month, preferably on the same date each month. If you miss the monthly interval, administer Milbemax immediately and resume your monthly dosing schedule.
• It is recommended to maintain a minimum interval of one week between doses.
• If worm problems persist, consult your veterinarian.

Dosage:

• For cats >17.6 lbs. (>8 kg), a combination of tablets should be given, consistent with the recommended minimum dose.

• For oral use in cats only. Do not use in dogs.
• It should be kept out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.
• Read the label completely and follow the directions for use.
• Wash your hands thoroughly after handling the product.
• Do not contaminate water courses while disposing of the product.
• In case of accidental ingestion, especially by a child, seek medical advice immediately.

• Before starting to use Milbemax, have your veterinarian confirm, by a simple test, that your cat does not have heartworms. Infected cats should be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before using Milbemax.
